Dho-tapu, meaning stone saddle is
a big sacred rock shaped like a saddle on the right
side of the steep road leading to the
Do-Drul-Chorten. It is also the age old name of the
locality where Dho-tapu Guest House now stands.
Dho-tapu is set up at Deorali
within the vicinity of Gangtok between State Trading
Corporation and S.N.O.D. Petrol pump, and has a
spectacular view of the Mountains from the terrace.
